The following information was sent to families via SchoolMessenger on Wednesday, September 2 with the subject "Important Information From Food Services". The content has been formatted for the web.

All Students to Receive Free Meals Through December 31, 2020

Great News! On August 31, 2020, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) granted significant waiver extensions that allows for all students to receive breakfast and lunch meals at no cost through December 31, 2020, regardless of free and reduced meal eligibility.

Meal charges will return in January 2021, therefore, all families should proceed with completing a Free and Reduced Meal Application at the start of the year. It is essential that families still complete a Free and Reduced Meal Application as these waivers may end in December and applications will still be used to waive applicable fees and other functions.

Below you will find essential information regarding Food and Nutrition Services operations, effective September 8th. Each school will operate differently based on its schedule and COVID-19 precautions, so please stay tuned for specific information from your school.

Please visit http://www.jeffcoschoolfood.org/free-reduced for SchoolCafé instructions and free and reduced meal applications applications in four languages.

ALL FAMILIES: FNS Back to School Family Checklist:

For school funding purposes and to have schools' fees reduced or eliminated, it is essential that families still complete Free and Reduced Meal Applications. Applications are available via your SchoolCafé account. Remember, you can apply at any point during the school year and may reapply if your family’s income situation changes.

2. Add Money to Student Accounts

Meals through December 31, 2020 are available at no cost to all students.

Students who wish to purchase a la carte items will need their student ID number, whether using funds from their SchoolCafé account or cash/check.
