Hybrid Learning Starts Tomorrow

The following information was sent to families via SchoolMessenger on Monday, September 7 with the subject "Information for tomorrow - Hybrid Learning Starts". The content has been formatted for the web.

While we have had two weeks of remote learning, tomorrow is a big day for all of us. The day will be filled with challenges and new learning as we navigate a different school day. Our attitude and willingness to work through the "new normal" is what will make the difference for our students and our staff. It will be a great day!

Schedule for the week of September 8, 2020:
Date Day In Person Online
September 8 Blue (periods 1-3) Group A Group B and FTR
September 9 Blue (periods 1-3) Group B Group A and FTR
September 10 Silver (periods 4-6) Group A Group B and FTR
September 11 Silver (periods 4-6) Group B Group A and FTR

Group A: Students with last names A-J
Group B: Students with last names K-Z
FTR:  Students attending full-time remote

* There will be no Friday schedule this week due to the Labor Day holiday.

Reminders for tomorrow

Wear your mask! We have reusable masks for every student and a lanyard so you can keep your mask with you if you are able to take off the mask outside or in the bathroom.

You may have your own supply of hand sanitizer or wipes but you cannot share them with others. We have plenty of hand sanitizer in every classroom. Even though we are short on disinfectant wipes at the moment, we have more than enough disinfectant to properly clean desks, chairs and high-touch surfaces.

Bring your school Chromebook or device with you. If you are a 7th or 8th grade student and need to check out a Chromebook, notify your period 1 teacher and we will bring you one. Even if you are attending in-person, you still need a Chromebook to complete and submit assignments.

Bring a printout of your schedule or have it written down with a room number so you know where to go. (The room numbers for your classes can be found with your schedule in Infinite Campus. Please refer to our directions for how to log into Infinite Campus if you need a refresher on how to do that.)

Bring a small backpack or drawstring bag with your supplies, snack/lunch, and sweatshirt or jacket.

Bring your water bottle. Students can use the water bottle fillers but may not use the water fountains.

Bring a coat or warm sweatshirt with you tomorrow. It will be cold and we will be going outside at recess. Dress warmly!

Arrival in the morning

18 busses will be arriving in the morning starting at 7:05 am. All other vehicles will be held in the drop off zone until all 18 busses depart. If you are dropping off your child, we highly recommend you do not drop them off until 7:15 am at the earliest.

Please review the transportation points and maps in our Health and Safety Guidelines:

Students must go directly to their assigned grade level doorway for screening. Please watch this video for directions on how to navigate the hallways:

Breakfast and Lunch

We learned late last week that ALL students will be able to receive a free breakfast and lunch each day if they would like through December 31, 2020.

Students should pre-order breakfast and/or a lunch for days they want to receive those meals at school. Please do not order lunches any earlier than the Saturday prior to the week you are ordering for - for example, you would not want to order school meals for the week of September 14 before Saturday, September 12.

Breakfast will be grab and go at screening stations or delivered to students' first class of the day. Lunches will be delivered to students' period 3 class on Blue days and students' period 6 class on Silver days. Students that forget to pre-order can still have a meal but will not get the choices available when they pre-order.

Students may bring their own snacks and lunch; they must be kept in the student's small backpack or drawstring bag until snack or lunch time. No microwaves are available to heat up food.
